On March 3-4, 2016, the Growth Dialogue participated in the G-24 Technical Group Meeting held in Cartagena, Colombia. Danny Leipziger presented Global Challenges, Global Solutions: The Big Picture, an overview of current global challenges and global solutions. Looking forward, emerging economies growth strategies will need to cope with weak global growth drivers, uncertainty from new financial crises, the need to improve resource allocation, and managing the social and political impact of gaps between public expectations and the ability of governments to deliver. Also highlighted was the growing challenge of urbanization as people continue moving towards cities. Among important policy recommendations, it is clear that urban strategies must be linked to national strategies.
