On December 2-3, 2014, the Growth Dialogue co-sponsored (along with Columbia University and The Initiative for Policy Dialogue) the Conference on the Consequences of Economic Inequality for Economic Performance at Columbia University. The conference focused on the causal link between inequality and economic performance in both developed and developing countries and explored the possibility that there might be some important differences in those causal links. This understanding would be beneficial for middle-income countries. Professors Joseph Stiglitz, Jan Svejnar and Danny Leipziger spoke during the Opening and Welcome and Prof. Dani Rodrik, shown here, and Prof. Paul Krugman were among the speakers at the Conference.
